Jimmy Hoffa was a union man in Detroit. Teamsters Local 299 to be specific. When it became difficult to fight goons, hired by corporate management, to protect his union truck driver members, he made a deal with the Detroit mob to help them fight the goons. With success, Jimmy became a very popular union organizer and eventually rose through the ranks to become President of the Brotherhood of Teamsters. Because of his association with the mob, Jimmy was hounded continuously by Attorney General Bobby Kennedy. Tampa attorney, Frank Ragano, represented Jimmy in many of his lawsuits. Frank also became friends with Jimmy's foster son, Chuckie O'Brian, who was also a Teamster and close to his dad from the very beginning. Frank and Chuckie told author, Mike Harris, exactly how it all happened, how Jimmy Hoffa got started in the Teamsters, how he got to be President of the labor union, how he was convicted by Bobby Kennedy and sent to prison, how a deal was worked out with President Nixon to get him released from prison early, how he tried to get re-elected President of the Teamsters, how he was lured into a meeting outside of Detroit where he was killed by the mob, who did it and what happened to his body. It's a shocking story that's absolutely true!
