I, Freddie L Sirmans Sr. born December 22, 1942 has suffered neurotic symptoms practically all of my life. Around five and six years old I was a bed wetter and received painful beatings for it by my father. He truly believed it was laziness the reason I didn’t get out of bed to relieve myself. The result of that punishment saddled me with a neurotic pitiful look before receiving those hard licks. In a young child the human brain will go to great lengths to aid survival, and beyond my control that was taking place with me. The really sad part was the neurotic pitiful look would kick in beyond my control in other situations like maybe if was tired or had to stand before large crowds, otherwise I was a normal kid. My dad was no phony he raised his kids the way he was raised and the way he actually felt was best, I never took it personally and to this day I thank God for him. Sure, I had my deep shameful secret weakness but overall I grew up as a happy kid. I never took an out front leadership role and excelled in sports. In spite of my flaws life was good to me. Then around age 23 out of the military I moved back at home then another type of neurotic symptom invaded my life and robbed me of peace of mind. This new type of neurotic symptom I will call it an unwanted distraction that can’t be ignored and interferes with one chain of thoughts. Well, like during my whole life very few things I set my mind on I didn’t solve in some way all I knew was in some way I would cure myself. All of my life I have loved to read, and had already read Dr. Peale’s book on positive thinking. So, a little over fifty years ago I set out to develop a positive thinking quote to cure neurotic symptoms. I believe what the mind itself actually believe is key, and when it comes to neurosis fear and trauma plays a major role. Normally people decide what they want to believe, but trauma mixed with fear against one’s will can stamp a belief in seconds that will last a lifetime. Now after fifty years finally I believe I have developed a positive thinking quote formula to prevent a very distractive neurotic symptom from causing so much misery to millions. My positive thinking quote formula is very simple, but it must be repeated to one’s self over and over at least fifty times each day. When saying the quote formula to those that have strong religious beliefs simply add at the ending “through God which strengthens me”. The positive thinking quote formula can be found somewhere in this book, it is “seven words long and ends with the word things”. Never quit because no doubt positive thinking changes behavior, but sometimes it may take six months or longer to fully kick in.
